Last year’s huge success of the first ever Boobie-Ball raised over $2600.00 and Eva Bellambi and Serra Anansi are working hard again this year to bring you the Second Life Second Annual Boobiethon Ball, as well as other events that take part during the week of the Boobie-Thon. I will be attending a few of the events so be sure to look for Stormy Mefusula
Here are the details:
Boobies. Cuhuangas, Breasts. TaTas. Bazooms.
They are called many things and although they come in all shapes and sizes (large, small, saggy and perky), they have one thing in common: The ability to develop cancer.
Even though there is no cure yet, Serra Anansi and Eva Bellambi are joining the annual Blogger Boobie-Thon (http://www.boobiethon.com) to do our part part to make breast cancer a thing of the past.
Come join us as we host the 2ND ANNUAL SECOND LIFE BOOBIETHON.
This year we will have a week of events from the kick off Boobie Ball in the Winterfell Community Center on October 2nd to the ending ceremonies held at the Isle of Skye (Winterfell Anodyne) on October 7th! All funds collected in Second Life will be matched in part by Serra and Eva and then donated to the Susan G. Koman Foundation via the Blogger Boobie-Thon.
Please contact Serra Anansi or Eva Bellambi if you are interested in hosting an unique event to help up raise awareness and funds to bring Breast Cancer to an end.

After the Main Event, there will be a limerick melee. Anyone desiring to enter will notify Eva Bellambi in world during the event. The winner will be determined by popular vote (Linden’s donated on his/her behalf)

Is it really that time again?
We are just a little over two weeks away from the launch of the 2009 Boobie-Thon! I’m so excited and well prepared. Just a few more finish touches and we’ll be ready to launch.
One item we need to still work on is the Bloggers-Helping-Bloggers charity. What charity’s should be considered? Do you know of a blogger who needs help? Let us know by filling out the nomination form and then we’ll ask our volunteers to select the charity that will be featured as the Bloggers-Helping-Bloggers in 2009.
So, please speak up!
The deadline for submissions will be Sunday September 27, 2009. The selected charity will be announced when we launch on October 1st!
Hey everyone! Can you believe it’s almost time for the 8th Annual Boobie-Thon. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since the last event and planning and preparation for 2009 is in full effect.
This year we are asking for Photo Editor volunteers again. What does a Photo Editor do? It’s pretty simple really…
A photo editor will be responsible for editing photo submissions. You will receive access to the photo submission email address and then download photos that are submitted and run them against a small checklist of requirements. Then you pass these photos on to a photo coordinator who publishes them to the Boobie-Thon website.
Please note, guys edit male photos and girls edit female photos. No exceptions! Please make sure you choose the appropriate volunteer slot when signing up.
If you are interested in volunteering, please signup at Volunteer Spot. Each slot is one hour and you are more than welcome to sign-up for multiple spots across multiple days.
I look forward to seeing you all for the kick-off on October 1st!
I wanted to pop in and give you all an update on Kat, who was the recipient of the Bloggers Helping Bloggers. She emailed me the last day of the Boobie-Thon and I sent out a quick note about it, but I wanted to sit down and write a proper blog post about it.
Thanks again for everything, you have no idea how much this has all meant to me. The outpouring of support has been amazing and so overwhelming to me. Over $1,000 to help me, incredible.
I will be having another surgery in about 6 months, a revision surgery to get my head laced correctly, but it’s ok, I’m ok with it. I’m alive, I’m here with my sons.
We are so glad to have been able to help Kat and we wish you all the best.
I am in shock. So so happy and overwhelmed and emotional. This week has been a whirlwind and I prayed we would do well. And we did great!
Robyn sent a note a few moments ago letting me know how happy she is for all of us:
A huge thank you to all of the coordinators, volunteers, donors, photo-participants, and people who helped spread the word—this has grown into something beyond my wildest dreams and expectations and I couldn’t be
more proud of everyone involved from 2002-2008
The Boobie-Thon would never have celebrated seven years if Robyn hadn’t helped out a friend. She worked her ass off to make this a respectable fundraiser and one that so many people participate in year after year. We look forward to many more!
Everyone’s support and help has made this week so amazing. I can not thank you all enough for donating, participating, volunteering and tweeting your hearts out for us. I am so proud of what we have done here and I am so thrilled to be part of this awesome event. When I first sent in my rack shot years ago, I never imagined I would be sitting here telling you all that we have raised over $50,000.00 between 2002-2008!
Update: Thank you everyone! We just beat our all-time record set in 2006 and our current total raised is $9,261.00!! Thank you all for donating!
Oh my!!! We are getting down to the wire. We have one hour left and we are right now $145 away from breaking the all-time Boobie-Thon record which was set back in 2006. And I know we can do this. Please help us and donate now!
Yes, we’ve read all about the Presidential/Vice-Presidential “Drinking Games” that are going around and we wanted to offer up something a little different.
You don’t have to put down your glass (we are gonna need the alcohol to actually watch the debate) to play this game, but you will need to open up your wallets for a great cause….
We’re playing The Presidential Debate Boobie Game! Please help us get the word out and play along with us. I will be playing
Donate $1 when:
If you plan on playing, let me know!
Update: We did not include some common phrases like “Maverick” and “Hope” because we would like you all to afford your rent/mortgage payments this month. Thanks for playing!
Update Two: The guidelines are just that. Guidelines. If you want to pick just three items from the list, pick three. If you want to play them all, play them all. It’s fun, it’s for charity!
Update: The Swank Web Style Goodie Bag #2 has beeen claimed!! Thank you for donating!
