Good to see y'all again!
PLEASE NOTE: This main page of the site will always remain work-safe with text updates only, as will the RSS feed linked in the sidebar. Only the photos pages aren't work-safe. Links in the sidebar marked with an asterisk (*) are not considered work-safe either.
Welcome to the home of the fourth-annual Blogger Boobie-Thon for charity. And a special "hello" to our visitors from Wired.com! The event officially kicks off on Saturday, October 1, 2005, and will run through 11:59 p.m. EDT on Saturday, October 8, 2005 although we've opened up a special "preview" version of the site a day early.
For more information on the 2004 event which raised well over $8200 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, go here. And for information on the very first event in 2002 which raised over $1250 for breast cancer research, please go here.
Normally the first $359 donated goes to a "bloggers helping bloggers" charity in the spirit of the original Boobie-Thon. However, this year our secondary charity's proceeds will go directly to The American Red Cross to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, and we are placing no limits on the funds raised for that charity. The remainder of the funds raised will go directly to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. It is up to you to choose which charity (Komen or Red Cross) you wish to donate to and what dollar amount you wish to donate to one, the other, or both.
Your donations to both charities are tax deductible, and once again this year the Boobie-Thon is operating in a pledge capacity rather than taking your donations personally.
We took photo submissions early again this year, and already have entries on our photo sampler page (link not work safe). In fact, we've had so many submitted early (over seventy-five!) that some have already scrolled off the sampler page so make sure to check out the "all photos submitted" page as well (link also not work safe). And this year, we've also split the entries up into girls and guys pics (links also not work safe) for faster viewing. The top of each photo page has a link that will take you to instructions for submitting photos of your own.
Don't forget that once again we also have a private, passworded pay-per-boobie site with bare-boobie photos for donors of $50.00 or more. So what you see isn't all of what you (might) get we have a high-rollers club, too! Your $50+ donation in 2005 includes access to the pay-photos from 2003 and 2004 as well.
Last but certainly not least... Don't forget to fund a free mammogram today!
