Volunteers needed! Pass it on!
Hey everyone. I hope everyone has been doing well over the last 10 months. TEN MONTHS! Wow, that went fast, no?
Well we are back and gearing up for the 2008 Boobie-Thon, which is a mere TWO months away. I can not thank everyone enough for all their support last year. Without you, there would be no Boobie-Thon and that would be sad. We love boobies and we love saving them. So, once again we are asking for your help. We need YOU in order to make this year’s event a huge success!
Here’s are some ways you can volunteer:
1. People who can record donations in real-time. You will receive pledge amounts and names/e-mail addresses via email. All pledges are sent to one email address which you will check during your 2-3 hour shift. Your job will be to compile a list of pledge amounts and names and then pass them along to the donation coordinator who will then add them to our donation totals and donor list on this site.
2. People who have experience editing photos. You will receive access to the photo submission email address (guys edit guy photos, girls edit girl photos) and then run each photos against a small checklist of requirements. Then you will pass these photos on to the photo coordinators so they can publish them to the site.
3. People who can make schedules! Schedule coordinators will work with the donation recorders and photo editor volunteers. Your job will be to fit volunteers into the daytime, evening and overnight shifts that work best for the volunteers. You will be required to make/adjust/edit schedules and send out shift-reminders to all donation and photo editor volunteers.
4. People who can post donations to this site. Donation coordinators are responsible for collecting all donation records from the donations recorders and posting donor lists and donation totals to the site at least 3-4 times per day.

Sorry for the downtime!
If you’ve visited the Boobie-Thon website over the past few weeks, you may have noticed the lack of content and BOOBIES! Well we had a little server mishap but Hosting Matters (the wonderful folks who donate the hosting for this site) just got us back and running smoothly. I have to admit I was a little upset and annoyed about the situation at first and well maybe toward the middle of the situation asl well. But HM was professional and understanding and they did everything they could to get the site back up.

It’s time to fly…
The 2007 Boobie-Thon is over. Just as fast as it arrived, it has now ended. I can not thank our volunteers enough for all their hard work. Really, if they didn’t volunteer we wouldn’t be doing this every single year. This was my first year as the Event Coordinator and the volunteers welcomed me and worked their butts off for you! Thank you all!!
Than there are all of you out there. People who donated. People who submitted photos and also everyone who linked to and wrote about this year’s Boobie-Thon. You helped get the word out by getting people to this site, raising awareness. We’ve raised $5,666.00 this year. That’s over $40,000.00 in six years!! That in and of itself it amazing. I know I didn’t do as well as past years, but I promise that we’ll be back again next year and we’re going to try to kick some major ass to make up for it. I’ve learned a lot this past week and plan on using that knowledge to make next year even better.
Thank you all so much. This has been an amazing week with a few bumps along the way, but so so so worth every moment. Thank you for being here with me. Thank you for supporting this great cause.

If you send in a new photo submission from now until 11pm Eastern, it will be one of the last submissions received and therefore one of the last one’s posted! I’m sitting here ready to grab your photo, edit it if necessary and post it to the gallery! Be on of the last submissions and one of the top photos on the “All Photos” gallery page.

Getting down to the wire
Today is Day 7! Seven days of boobies. WOW! I can’t believe we’ve made it through all this and we’re entering the home stretch. We will still be accepting photos and taking donations until 12:01AM Monday October 8, 2007!! That’s less than 12 hours away. So, get those donations in and those photos!!
And a huge thank you to all the volunteers this year. I really couldn’t have done this without you. Kimberley helped wrangle up the donation volunteers while Peggy handled all the photo editors and filled in empty spots when she could. Misty rocked with getting all the donations together, making a killer spreadsheet (girls got made excel skills) and being my sounding board through out all of this. Lisa and Robyn offered their help as well, since this was my first year behind the wheel. And we can’t forget about Theresa, Matt, Amanda, Da Goddess, Jennifer, Kat, Amy, SeaRabbit, Cheryl, Luka and GC!! You guys didn’t have to help but you did anyway!! I am forever grateful for everything you have done. I never imagined this event would touch my life the way it has but seeing and being a part of something that has touched and helped so many people has made me one big emotional mess (in a good way!). Thank you!!
Thank you all for being here and helping us raise over $5,000! It’s not as much as the year’s past, but it’s still a considerable amount of money and for my first year out here, I’ll totally take it. We’ll be back again next year, rocking and rolling for this great cause!!
