Thanks for the mammaries!
We closed out an amazingly successful 10 days of the 2004 Boobie-Thon at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday night, October 10th.
Our total raised...drumroll please...was $8696.30. That's over $1650 more than the total take for the 2003 event!
We raised a staggering $8241.30 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation during our 10-day event this year. Since the Boobie-Thon kicked off in 2002, we've raised a total of $16,178.75 for Komen!
And we could not have done it without all of you!
Beginning in September 2005, please stay tuned to boobiethon.com for updates regarding the 2005 event. It's set to kick off at 12:00 a.m. EDT on Saturday, October 1, 2005. You can watch the countdown clock above as that date approaches. We'll see you then!
Thanks so much,
The 2004 Boobie-Thon Staff
P.S. Just because the 2004 event is over, doesn't mean your generosity has to end. Please continue to donate directly to Komen and don't forget to fund free mammograms each and every day!

Lisa, Lisa - the one I adore
Everyone needs to give up some mad love for Lisa this year! She handled ALL photo submissions (regular, pay, you name it) by herself for the ten days of the 2004 event, and the days prior to launch, so the site would already be full of pics when traffic started to roll in at midnight on October 1st. She has worked 'round the clock in Photoshop, Movable Type, and Gmail and it shows. This year has topped last year's total take by over $1600 and this year's event was 24 hours shorter due to the weekend calendar. I did photos and donations by myself for the 'Thon's first two years (2002*, 2003) but there is absolutely no way I could have done it all on my own this year!
Which leads me to...many, many thanks also go out to our donation coordinators (Jennifer, Sonia, and Amanda) and press coordinator (Stacy). This year's event would not have been possible without each and every one of them. So stop by their blogs and tell them thanks! They deserve the pat on the back!
Thanks to all the volunteers for ALL of your help! And thanks to all of you who linked, sent photos in, and donated this year! Can't wait to see you in 2005...
Love,
-Robyn

We checked our P.O. Box this evening, and two "in honor of" cards from Komen had arrived. These are the ones mentioned on the donations page, and we'll be collecting any that are received and passing on to bloggers Sandee and Dori. Thought everyone might like to see an example...
There's just over an hour and a half left in the 2004 event to get your photos and donations in!

We've recently discovered that due to a filtering glitch with a donation coordinator's e-mail, at least two donations did not get recorded to the site this week (since added). If anyone else has not been contacted following a donation and / or failed to see their pledge added to our "total raised" and donors list please use this contact form to notify me. I will personally make sure your donation and your choice of donor name / URL (optional) are recorded to the site immediately. If this has affected anyone else, you have our sincerest apologies!
UPDATE: Please note, the above does not effect your actual monetary donation being processed, as those are handled through Komen directly, and not boobiethon.com.

As of the time of this posting, we have 150 photos posted to the paid page. Woohooo! That's a lot of "thank yous" for donating money to Komen! Think of all the breasts you're saving! Such a win-win, I tell ya.
There are also eleven more pics on the main picture page, including two man-racks. If you just want to see the girls, click here.
If you're out there frantically trying to capture just the right shot, get it and get it in and I'll get it up on the site. But keep your eye on the clock so you don't turn into a pumpkin.

Time's almost up! I've posted a few new pics on the pay page, and I have a couple to post on the other pages soon as well.
If you have been meaning to send in your picture or donation, but haven't done it yet, what are you waiting for? Wait too long and you'll miss your chance for a whole year.

Lisa's plea below worked as of this entry, we have now topped the $8K mark for Komen in 2004! In fact, over the course of the last three years (2002*, 2003, 2004), we've now raised over SIXTEEN THOUSAND dollars for Komen alone! So pat yourselves on the backs for spreading the word, submitting your photos, and digging deep into your pockets. We could not have done it without you!
As Lisa mentioned, the party isn't quite over yet though. We're still here working hard 'til the very last second. The countdown clock above will be your guide. So if you're fashionably late, don't worry! There's still enough time to donate and get your pics in. But hurry! Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'...into the future...

I just posted 6 new pictures! I'm still getting some trickling in, so it's not actually too late to send one in. If you're bored and have nothing better to do than take pictures of your breasts, I'll be sure to post them!
We're only $48.70 away from raising $8,000.00 for the Komen Foundation. Surely one of you out there wants to be the one who sends us up over that mark, right? Just one more $50.00 donation and we're there! Who's it gonna be?
I've still got a few more pics to post, so don't give up on us yet. I've even got a few for the pay page going up soon. Hang around, relieve your boredom, tell all your friends and let's make this last day count!
Speaking of counting, there's a countdown clock at the top of the page to tell you just how long you've got left to get that last-minute photo submission or donation in before we wrap this up for another year!

Well here we are on the last day of this year's Boobie-Thon. So far we've had a great week, exceeding goals in all areas. We've posted over 300 pictures to the mammary page (including 8 new ones just posted), we have 30 man-racks, and we've taken in over $8000.00 in donations at last count. Not too bad for something that started out as a little fundraising effort between friends.
I'll still be posting photos as I get them today, and any last-minute donations will be accepted right up until 11:59:59 tonight, so the time for procrastinating is definitely over. Thanks to everyone who's already participated!
posted by Lisa at 12:56 PM | pings (0)She works hard for the money
It's time everyone gave it up for Lisa she has been a Photoshopping fool tonight editing and posting photos like crazy! There are tons of new mammary pics, pecs pics, theme and "by request" pics...you name it...we've got it!
And that doesn't even begin to cover the special "pay-per-boobies" site available to donors of $50 or more. Lisa has just put up our third "sneak peek" of photos located over there. With access to both the 2003 and 2004 paid sites with your $50+ donation, we are nearing almost 250 more (bare) photos yet to be seen!
There are officially less than 24 hours to go now 'til everything shuts down until 2005. Don't let this opportunity slip on by donate now (and get those last-minute photos in, too)!

Saturday night's alright
Well, it's been a busy Saturday around here! I've gotten in some great pictures this afternoon, and as a result there are new things to look at both here and on the pay-per page. Our 300th image is a teaser for one I just posted to the paid page, along with some other very nice pics, so if you haven't made your donation for the cause to gain access to that page yet, you won't want to keep putting it off.
Just one more day and then the fun's over for another year. If you've been postponing making that donation or submitting your picture, stop procrastinating!
Do. It. Now!
Let's kick this event into high gear for the last day! I'm interested to see just how much money we can raise in the next 24 hours.

Breaking in to your Saturday to let you know we've now exceeded the $8,000 mark in donations received!! We thank you, The Komen Foundation thanks you, and healthy boobies everywhere thank you for all you've done to help us get here.
But it's not over yet! We have a little over 24 hours to continue to set records with this year's event. I'm still accepting photos, we're still accepting donations, and I'm still posting your pictures as I get them in!

As of this morning's latest updates, we've now raised over $7750 total that's incredible! We're now in the homestretch, as everything wraps up at 11:59 p.m. EDT Sunday evening. But that still leaves you with plenty of time to submit your photos and / or donate. Go OU beat Texas!* We've had plenty of pose requests (1, 2, 3) to keep you busy so there's no excuse for being stumped on what kind of photo to submit! Multiple-submissions are always welcome.
* I have no idea how that snuck in there. I apologize and assure you it will not happen again. And yet, it just might.

Where all da pi'tures at?
Yo! We have accomplished an awesome goal, but the fun isn't over just yet! Many thanks to everyone who's put us over the top of last year's amount raised.
Many thanks also to those who've sent in pictures. I know it's Friday night, you're probably getting ready to go out, so what's stopping you from taking a break mid-party prep to snap a photo of yourself with a little flesh showing? It's for a great cause, and we could all live vicariously through you while you're out celebrating and we're here working our fingers to the bone. So. Break out those camera phones, your mini-digi on a keychain, or your pen camera and take a photo of yourself or your friends. Stay away from the strangers, you can get in trouble for that. Just as a general rule, try to remember we're not including photos of faces, we're trying to avoid anything pixellated or blacked out, and we're trying to keep the size around 500px wide.
Thanks again for all your support, we couldn't have gotten to this point without you! We have almost 275 photos in our gallery of gals now. Let's try to hit 300! Just for fun. Fun is good.
I've posted a few of my favorite photos from years past to the paid gallery, and I'll be posting another teaser shortly to the girls' section. Stay tuned.

We've passed last year's donation totals, and we thank you! It's such an amazing thing.
It's not over, though - we still have until Sunday night to collect donations. There are boobies to be seen - what are you waiting for?

We have just passed the amount that was raised in the 2003 Boobie-Thon ($7045.45 total). As of this entry, our total raised is $7066.30. Dave, at "Dave Does the Blog", gets our never-ending thanks as well as each and every person on the donor list for helping us to make this year such a smashing success!
We still have 2.5 more days to go though, so the party isn't over yet folks! There's still time to get those donations and photos in!
Don't forget, donor #150 will get special access to the pay site (already given out now!), regardless of donation amount. This normally requires a donation of $50+!

There's a new entry on the paid page; if you haven't donated yet you've still got time! The photos will be there, but your opportunity to gain access to them only lasts through Sunday night! Be sure to head on over and pony up some cash so you can see all the pretty pictures!
I also posted pictures we've received either filling a request or snapping photos on a theme. You can see them here. It's not too late to send in your pictures, but it soon will be. So send them on in!
UPDATE (by Robyn): We're only $9.15 off from We've passed our total take last year now! Don't forget our special pay-per access offer still available to the person who is #150 on the donor list (already given out now)!
Into the home stretch in style!
We're coming into the last few days of the Boobie-Thon. Feels a little like the last week of camp. But the fun's not over yet! I've gotten some great pictures in overnight; the first of them have been posted. I'll be posting more as the morning and afternoon goes on, so keep checking back to see if there's anything new since the last time you were here.
Theme photos have started rolling in, and I've received a few in response to requests that I'll post soon.
On a more serious note, when I was checking the headlines on the main page of the website linked in this entry, I found a link to this feature article.
LOS ANGELES -- Singer Melissa Etheridge has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has canceled upcoming tour dates to undergo treatment, her publicist said Thursday.Etheridge, 43, will undergo surgery and a "speedy and complete recovery" is expected by her doctor, publicist Marcel Pariseau said in a statement.
The cancer was detected early and Etheridge has been receiving treatment, Pariseau said.
"I am fortunate to be under a wonderful doctor's care and thankful that this was caught early," Etheridge said in the statement. "I am looking forward to a quick and full recovery." -- The Morning Call online
A very vivid reminder of exactly why we're all doing this.
UPDATE (by Robyn): We're now less than $65 away from matching our total take for the 2003 event ($7045.45). The first person to either make us top that amount (or the first person to donate after that if the donation that sends us over the top is already $50+) will get access to the pay-page regardless of their donation amount! We've also had 131 donors as of this update, so donor #150 will also get access to the pay-page regardless of donation amount (already given out now!). Thanks again everyone!

Tattoo you
Just a quick note that the mammary pics page has been updated with even more examples of what your $50+ donation will get you!
And another photo taking idea...a chance to say "hi mom!" Ok, maybe not exactly "hi mom!" but this photo (not work safe) should help give you some idea. Rather than putting a message in a bottle, say it where it really counts.
A few ground rules though:
º blog titles are ok, blog URLs and first / last names are not
º Photoshopped messages also ok
º pics can be taken for covered and / or pay page
So publicize yourself. Find your inner graffiti child. Get creative!

New photos to see here (and here and here), as well as on the pay-page. Thanks to all of you who responded to my not-so-subtle plea for more photos.
Unfortunately, that means my "stash" of photos is completely depleted! I still haven't received any earmarked as in response to the requests we've had come in. If you take a photo to fill a request, if you could include in your email that it's in response to a request, I'll post a little note along with the picture that says so. I'll also be making a note now and then under photos on the main page to let you know when a particular ... ahem, "set" can also be seen on the pay-per page for those who donate. Nothin' like a little "sneak peek" to get your motor runnin'!
So - send me your pics! And don't forget, tomorrow is National Denim Day, so pics incorporating denim somehow are encouraged!

We received the following comment for inclusion on the main page today:
To all participants, those affected by breast cancer in some form, donors, organizers of this site, and essential everyone who at least visits this site...We also had another (anonymous) pose request: "Upside down. Definitely upside down. Males are fascinated by the effects of gravity on boobies."Thank you! I know that those two words are not all that it takes to rid the world of cancer, or at least to find a cure, but it is actions like this and others that contribute to a whole: the goal of finding a cure.
They always attest that your vote counts in an election, that each and every vote counts. It does, just as much as each donation or each little action that anyone does to help. 500 votes in Florida made the difference, as much as each donation and picture does to this cause. Just think, in a matter of days, thousands of dollars are collected and all of the GORGEOUS pictures are shared for a common goal... all organized by a few selected group of extraordinary women. It does make a difference.
To all whom are involved, again I thank you... as I have done previously and am actively doing now, I'll make every attempt I can to support the efforts here, whether its by constantly plugging the site on my blog or scrounging up donations and donors.
Breast wishes,
Jake Good - whoisjake.com
And another great suggestion was to link local "Race for the Cure" sites in the sidebar. I'll be adding that section today. So if you're participating in a local event, or raising funds for one in your blog, let us know! We'll happily link you up...
There are also new pink ribbon photos posted to the photos pages today by Lisa, so check those out! And submit more pics!
We're less than $100 away now from raising $6K for Komen (current donation totals as of this posting are $6310.30). It's a new goal. Let's see if we can meet it, shall we?
UPDATE: Our "causes we all support" list in the sidebar was getting quite long, so I've trimmed it down a bit, and made a new page with the entire list.

A donation of $21.70 would send that arrow up there to the $6000.00 mark. So. I'll tell ya what we're gonna do. Whoever sends that $21.70 (or a nice, round $22.00 would be fine) in to send us over the top will be given the super-secret password and link to the pay-per-boobie page (a $50.00 value, remember!) immediately. I've started receiving suggestions for pose requests here's what we've got so far:
|
Another great suggestion we received today... This year we've eliminated the ability to make your comments public. There are several reasons for this. The main being, last year several hurtful comments were left and this is so not what this drive is about. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and we were each designed to be a unique being. This site celebrates that diversity, and the common bond that holds all women together. (And men!) Then there's the issue of the spam this kind of site generates. And even though the comments were set to pre-approve last year, it was almost a full-time job going through and moderating them. So...this year...we've made the comments private in order to keep things running more smoothly.
However, we understand that several of you wish to pass along your appreciation publicly as spectators and donors. If you're one of them just click the 'mail a comment' link below and tell us! We can put up a special entry here on the front page full of such comments, and link to you if you wish. Please make sure to note if you'd like your name used, and what URL (if any) should go with it. We assure you, your feedback is still very much important to us!

We are a little sad that we only found a single e-mail in the Boobiethon box this morning.
Folks, we are so close...please don't give up now. The pulchritudinous party of pectoral prettiness herein certainly inspires me to give. I hope it inspires you. It doesn't have to be a lot, (although we certainly wouldn't mind). Breast cancer is one that the medical community still doesn't have a handle on, so every little bit helps. If you have breasts, or love breasts, or both, this is your cause.
I'll be checking my e-mail...hope to see you there. :o)

I'll be back soon with more for you to see, including some on the paid page. This would be a good time to donate that $50.00 for access to the super-secret, undercover, uncovered page if you haven't already. Let's try to make today our biggest day yet!

I think everyone had a case of the Tuesday blues because things slowed down just a bit yesterday so let's make sure we kick them into high gear again today, shall we? If you haven't linked the site in a few days, save people the time and effort required by scrolling through your site and mention us once more! It can't hurt!
And if you've already submitted a photo (or three), submit more! Get creative. You only need to scroll through the mammary archive for more ideas. And don't forget to submit a photo to the pink ribbon gallery as well! Instructions for submitting a photo are located at the top of every photos page.
And hey guys, do you have ideas for a photo you'd like to see? If so, hit that 'mail a comment' link and tell us! We'll pass the word along here on the front page and find out if you get any takers...
Half-way done doesn't mean half-way numb. We've only just begun!

I woke up this morning to find $500 in new donations to the Boobiethon. Way to go! Things keep chugging along. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors--it's a good thing you're doing, and will keep you humming along much better than coffee today. Muchas gracias to one and all.
Current donation totals: $5518.30
Amount raised for AIDS Walk 2004 / Rock the Walk : $405.00
We asked that the first $359 donated go towards this charity.
Amount currently raised for Susan G. Komen: $5083.30

It just keeps getting better all the time
Today has been a GREAT day! We've gotten a ton of donations, nearly record-breaking totals for this time of the event, as a matter of fact. Thanks to all of you deep-pocketed, beauty-appreciating, supportive people!
There's a new entry up on the photo page and I expect to be posting a couple more updates on other pages as well. Stay tuned for more soon!
UPDATE (by Robyn): We're $31.70 away from the $5000 in total donations mark. The first person to send that amount in gets access to the pay-per-boobies site (that normally costs a $50 donation)!
UPDATE #2 (by Jennifer): We did it! We've hit $5,000 thanks to the amazing generosity of all of you!
posted by Lisa at 10:15 PM | pings (0)Movin' on up!
Last year we raised $7045.45 total ($6686.45 to Komen). This year to date, in less than half the time of our ten-day event, we've already raised more than half of what we did last year!
So pat yourselves on the backs! And keep those links, donations and photos coming in all are appreciated equally!

It's so GOOD to see the donation totals increasing the way they are!! You all ROCK!!
And so do YOU! New photos here, here, and here. More photos on the pay page as well!
Thanks again to all of you who're having as much fun with this as we'd hoped you would, and keep the photo submissions coming! A couple of ideas: think ... seasons, celebrations, holidays, sports teams, novelty items, candy's almost always good, and even costumes if you have a cool one already! It *is* October, after all.
Don't worry if you've already sent something in, if you have another idea take a photo and send it in too! Have fun! It's tradition. ;)

Did you know that a lot of companies will match donations that their employees make? It never hurts to ask - and our cause is a good one!
posted by Jennifer at 12:37 PM | pings (0)Going, going, GONE!
Our limited time offer was a success! All of our $20 upgrades have been given away!
But a $50 donation will still get you access to the pay-page, so please, spread the word, submit those photos, and continue to donate.

OK - I know no one just sits around their computers all weekend waiting for updates, but we were here nonetheless. It's Monday, now, though, so lets see if we can kick this event into weekday mode!
I've posted the latest batch of photos on the main photo page, and I expect I'll have another one on each page pretty soon. Many heartfelt thanks to all of you who helped stuff my inbox overnight. A happy inbox makes me a happy girl!
Keep those donations and submissions coming!
posted by Lisa at 11:26 AM | pings (0)Monday, Monday
Just a quick reminder... From the overnight hours, we still have three one no "$20 or more" donations left that will get you access to the pay-page. Normally this requires a donation of $50 or more! Spread the word, submit those photos, and continue to donate. We have less than a week to go 'til things wrap up here now!
In the Spirit of Challenge
If spirit was a saleable commodity, some of our submitters would have it in spades. Take a look at the photos page to see what I'm talking about.
Photos on a theme are welcome! Show your enthusiasm creatively and get a little exposure. ;)

Just a little bit more
New photos have been posted on the photos page!
Thanks to all who've donated, participated by sending photos, linking us on their site, or just telling friends at work (or... wherever) about the event. Keep those photo submissions and donations coming!
posted by Lisa at 11:27 PM | pings (0)Limited time offer extended
It took just under two hours to give the five $20 or more "pay-per-boobie" logins (mentioned below) away! Thanks everyone! So we've decided to extend this for five more donor(s). That means that the next five (all gone, sorry!) individual(s) to donate $20 or more will be granted access to the pay site as well.
All donations have not been recorded yet from previous donation coordinators, but as of current totals, we've cracked the $3K barrier! Keep it coming in folks. And don't forget to submit your photos if you haven't already!
posted by Robyn at 09:26 PM | pings (2)Let's get it started in here!
Time to spice things up a bit so no one gets bored on a Sunday evening... Normally access to the 'pay-per-boobies' page (with bare photos) is only granted for donations of $50 or more. But right now the first five people (first five all gone!) to donate $20 or more will be granted access. So if you've been sitting on your wallet all this time, now's the time to cough it up!
But wait! There's more! The very next guy to submit a photo to the pectoral gallery will receive access to the pay-page as well. According to Komen, in 2004, an estimated 1,450 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 470 men will die of the disease. This isn't just a 'female thing' and this site recognizes that.
Also wanted to mention a link passed along by Shell at acrosstheatlantic.com RE/MAX Racing for Life®. They offer a service to email a self-exam reminder each month, and a mammogram reminder each year. You get to choose the day you receive the notices.

Just a quick update to say that more photos have been posted to the photos page!
I'm still accepting photos in for all the pages; it's been a while since we've gotten any from the guys! We're still taking photos featuring the pink Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon, and multiple submissions are always welcome!

Just a quick heads-up that our donation coordinators are changing shifts again, so if you don't see a donation notice that you submitted recorded yet, please be patient! It will get there! Thanks for your patience and your donations!

Happy weekend, everybody! Many thanks to Robyn for posting last night and giving me a little time away from the computer.
With the submissions I received overnight, I've posted new photos on the main photos page, including some new pics for the Pink Ribbon gallery. Hopefully that will kick photo submissions into high gear!
Just a note in general about photo submissions. Recommended size for photos is 500 px wide. I've been posting smaller photos, but for reasons of aesthetics and symmetry, we'd love it if every photo could be successfully and beautifully resized to 500px before posting. Photo clarity is very important as well, and beauty of composition counts. If you get an email regarding your submission suggesting cropping changes, etc., be assured that we really want to use your photo, we just want to be sure it's posted in the best light possible. Much time can be saved, as well, if you indicate which page you suggest your photo goes on (for example, if you show a little more skin than you're comfortable with on the main page but we might decide to post there) and include whatever link you'd like to appear on the Participants master list. If you'd rather no link was posted, please include that information too. Multiple submissions are welcome and even encouraged.
Over all, have fun with this! As you can see from the photos that Robyn posted last night, there are various degrees of "tastefully covered"; let's see what you can come up with!
posted by Lisa at 12:52 PM | pings (0)Saturday night's alright
Hey, Robyn here! I've been doing the photo updates this evening for Lisa, who deserved a break today and it wuddn't at McDonald's!
The photos page has two entries of new pics, plus two other entries of rewind-pics (the "best of" the 2003 and 2002 Boobie-Thons). We decided to showcase some of the best, past photos this year to help kick-start ideas for those still struggling with taking their photographs.
There are also new pics up at the "pay-per-boobie" site (URL and password available to those who donate $50 or more to Komen). Don't forget the top of the pay-page has a subscription form so you can automatically be e-mailed update notices without having to check the site.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and we look forward to receiving more of your photos and donations as the night progresses! According to the "amount raised" page, we have just $5 more to go until we've raised $2K for Komen ($2400 total)... Open those wallets and give 'til it hurts (so good)!

Ka-ching
As of our second day of operations, the total donations have now eclipsed the $2K mark and we surpassed our $359 goal for "AIDS Walk 2004 / Rock the Walk" by $46.00 ($405.00 total raised for the "bloggers helping bloggers" portion of the charity drive). We're just about to blow by $1750 donated to Komen, and all donations made from here on out should go to Komen.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated thus far and helped spread the word. And a very special thanks to all our volunteers working 'round the clock behind the scenes to keep this massive undertaking up and running smoothly. I couldn't do it alone this year and I can't begin to tell them all how very much I appreciate their help!

New photos on the photos page; two new entries of girls with the guys in the middle. Just the way they like it.
New photos on the paid page coming soon.

It's that time again! Brand new entries are ready for viewing on both the Mammary page and the pay-per-view site! Be the first to check them out!
If you can't get to the pay-per-view site yet, you must not have been here, yet! What are you waiting for?
More photos are coming in for posting all the time so stay tuned for more entries soon!

Good Morning Boobie-Thoner's! I would like to formerly apologize to everyone that donated yesterday and this morning that didn't get listed until now. I have added everyone to the list of donors & I have added all donations that I have gotten.
On a lighter note, we are $9.00 from reaching our goal for the AIDS Walk 2004 / Rock the Walk! We have now reached the $1500.00 mark. Keep those donations coming.
Thank you to everyone that has already donated, we appreciate your generosity.

Just a little update to mention there are new pictures on the pay-per-view site now!
My inbox is full again so I will have plenty to add again soon. Keep up the good work!
I'll be making an entry with photos utilizing the Pink Ribbon soon, so if you have been meaning to get in on that now's your chance!
posted by Lisa at 11:13 AM | pings (0)Getting Saturday off to a good start
Good morning!! I woke up to an inbox full of new submissions for the photos page! I appreciate the enthusiasm of the submissions this year! I don't think any of us expected the number of photos received by this time to be so enormous! Thank you!
I've put some of the newest photos up on the photo page and I will add more in a little while. I will be updating the pay-per-view page as well, so stay tuned! If you haven't sent in your donation of $50.00 or more to access those photos yet, let me tell you that you'll want to do that soon! We've already had some beautiful photos submitted for that page and we're getting more all the time.
Guys - we want your pics too. Really! I know, I know, some of you are reluctant to have your torso posted, but look what good company you'd be in! Come on, send us your pics!

If you've noticed the donation totals page hasn't been updated in several hours, there's a reason for that. Our donations coordinator was not around yesterday evening and will be updating that page shortly. We've added in another donation coordinator to help lighten her workload. Please be patient! If you've made a donation, it will be recorded soon. And thanks again!
posted by Robyn at 08:45 AM | pings (2)New photos!
I just added two entries to the main photos page - one has something for the ladies to look at! We also have another entry featuring several great photos of fantastic ladies themselves, including our 100th photo posted to the Mammary Photos section!!
I'd say we're off to a great start, and now that the idea for increased creativity has been implanted, I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more!
And stay tuned to the pay-per-view site as well, because I'll have another entry up there shortly!
Thanks to everyone who's donated so far, and to those who've sent photos and linked the site in various places as well. Every sort of help is appreciated!
Just a couple of things about photo submissions, while I'm here. We've gotten a variety of great photos from many sources all over the world! I've had to do some creative cropping here and there, simply because for this event it's all about the Boobies. Faces are discouraged, although if you want to submit your photo with a face I can assure you I believe in striving for the sexiest and most tactful cropping possible. Pixellations and harsh editing are discouraged, since aesthetics are important as well. It's all about tasteful presentation for a worthy cause.
With that in mind, be sure to visit the photos page, and then hop on over to the donation page while you're here. It's all for a very worthy cause - we're here to protect healthy boobies. Keep up the great work and keep those pictures and donations rolling in!

Think pink
I'd say we've had a very successful day here at the Boobie-Thon. Donations and photos are pouring in and the linkage has been incredible. Thanks so much to everyone for the massive support!
If I can take a second to make a request (and this is aimed at no one in particular), please send only one donation notice to us. One notice is enough. We have our workload divided this year and it helps prevent the wires from being crossed. I'm only handling the site maintenance and back-end of things. Not the donation and photo updates. Thanks for understanding! As long as our mail gets routed to the right place, it keeps our inbox cleaner and we're all able to handle things more quickly.
Shifting gears... I had an idea pitched to me tonight for photos that I thought was worth passing along. It was suggested we make a separate photo gallery for creative use of the pink "breast cancer awareness" ribbon (covered, and pay-access for uncovered if you wish). You can use your own pink ribbon, or add one in digitally. It's up to you! Just make sure you note it's for the pink ribbon gallery with your submission (instructions at top of photo page)! Get to it, and let's see what you can come up with...
There have been several updates today and tonight on the photos page and pay-per-boobie site, so if you haven't been here in awhile, make sure to look around! And don't forget the pay site offers a notification-subscription option this year.
Thanks again everyone!

Hello and welcome!
Welcome to the home of the third-annual Blogger Boobie-Thon for charity. The event officially kicks off on Friday, October 1, 2004 and will run through 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, October 10, 2004.
For more information on the 2003 event which raised well over $6600 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, go here. And for information on the very first event in 2002 which raised over $1250 for breast cancer research, please go here.
We're requesting that in the spirit of the original Boobie-Thon, the first $359 donated this year go toward AIDS Walk 2004 / Rock the Walk as the "bloggers helping bloggers" portion of the Boobie-Thon. (More info on this charity and why it was selected, and the history of the $359 donation, here.) The remainder of the proceeds raised will go directly to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Your donations to both charities are tax deductible, and this year the Boobie-Thon is operating as in a pledge capacity rather than taking your donations personally.
We took photo submissions early again this year, and already have several entries on our photos page (link not work safe). And this year, we've also split the entries up into girls and guys pics (links also not work safe) as well for faster viewing. The top of each photo page has instructions for submitting photos of your own.
Don't forget that once again we also have a private, passworded pay-per-boobie site with bare-boobie photos (already set up with photos) for donors of $50.00 or more. So what you see isn't all of what you (might) get -- we have a high-rollers club, too!
PLEASE NOTE: This main page of the site will always remain work-safe with text updates only, as will the RSS feed linked in the sidebar. Only the photos pages aren't work-safe. Links in the sidebar marked with an asterisk (*) are not considered work-safe either.
Last but certainly not least... Don't forget to fund a free mammogram today!
