My daughter is a breast cancer survivor.

I volunteered because not only is it a great charity, it is also FUN!  While I cannot donate a lot of money, I can do my part by donating my time.

I heart boobies & don’t want any more women to suffer or die due to this.

Several years ago my mother was diagnosed with Grade 3 Breast Cancer. Thanks to developments in treatment she is alive today and for that I am always thankful. Since then it has been a cause close to my heart.

My wife and I have been participants for years now and I am now a multi-year volunteer. I believe cancer is one of the most serious diseases humanity faces and breast cancer seems to get the most attention. I want to do all I can to defeat some form of cancer since I think it will lead to a cure to most, if not all, forms of cancer. And, besides, we find this to be a fun and unique way to do a fund raiser.

I have been helping out with Boobie-Thon for a while now.  It is a great cause and a fun way to raise money.

This is my 4th year volunteering, but I’ve been donating and participating since 2004. My grandmother is a two-time breast cancer survivor, so I do this not only in honor of her, but to spread the word about the importance of boobie health. Happy 10th Anniversary Boobie-Thon!

The ‘why’ of volunteering is so complex for me since being diagnosed with breast cancer.  Research, prevention, awareness—all of these have become such intensely personal issues for me now. I love the women who run this and the women who volunteer every year because they believe they are doing something good.  We love boobies around here—but, we love the women and the men behind them even more—that’s the real reason we’re here.
